Serengeti Migration
A wildebeest can grow to 2.4 meters (8 feet) in length, and weigh up to 270 kilograms (600 pounds, also called gnus, are members of the antelope family. They are related to oryxes and gazelles. Also known as the Serengeti Migration, wildebeest migration is the frequent moving of Wildebeest from one region to another following the seasonal rains that often occur in May and June.
Wildebeest typically inhabit the Serengeti plains of southeastern Africa. For most of their lives, they graze in the grassy savannas and open woodlands of the plains, which straddle the nations of Tanzania and Kenya.
More than 1.5 million wildebeest migrate in an enormous loop every year. The annual migration northwest, at the end of the rainy season is recognized as one of the “Seven Wonders of the Natural World.”

Day 1:
Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha; 55kms/1hr drive
On arrival in Kilimanjaro International airport you will be transferred to Arusha town.

Day 2:
Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park; 120kms/2hrs drive
After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara for a guided village walk at MtowaMbu town. In this walk you will visit a local market, African family, local beer brew and local bar. You will enjoy a hot local lunch at the village. In the afternoon, you will drive to lake Manyara National Park for game drive. This park has the highest concentration of monkeys in north Tanzania. You will also have opportunity to see giraffes, elephants, hippos impalas and lots of birds.

Day 3:
Manyara – Ndutu Area:150kms/3hrs drive
After breakfast depart with picnic boxes to Ndutu area for game viewing. This is the area along the boundary of Ngorongoro and Serengeti where the great migration is supposed to be between January and April. It is where these animals (now estimated to be 2.5 million) will drop their young ones because the area is open and has highly nutritious grass. This is the highlight of your entire trip and you will expect to see lots of excitement like hunting, chasing, young ones being borne etc. You will have three nights to explore this special area where off road driving is permitted to allow you observe these adventures up close.

Day 4:
Ndutu Area
After breakfast, you will depart with picnic boxes for a full day of game viewing in Ndutu Area. This is the highlight of your entire trip and you will expect to see lots of excitement like hunting, chasing, young ones being borne etc.

Day 5:
Ndutu Area
After breakfast, you will depart with picnic boxes for a full day of game viewing in Ndutu Area. This is the highlight of your entire trip and you will expect to see lots of excitement like hunting, chasing, young ones being borne etc.

Day 6:
Ndutu – Serengeti National Park:150kms/3hrs drive
After breakfast depart with picnic boxes to Serengeti national park for game viewing. Serengeti is the park with the largest concentration of big mammals in the world. You will be looking for elephants, giraffes, hippos, warthogs, buffalos and many more. The central Serengeti is also the best place to see the rare leopards and other big cats.

Day 7:
Serengeti – Ngorongoro crater: 145kms/3.5hrs drive
After early breakfast, you will depart for Ngorongoro crater with picnic lunch for a game drive on the crater floor. This will be the best place for you to see the endangered black rhino (less than 1,000 black rhinos remain in the wild). You will also see pink flamingos in lake Magadi, lots of hyenas, gazelles, warthogs, jackals, and if you are lucky, lions and cheetahs.

Day 8:
Ngorongoro – Kilimanjaro International Airport:245kms/4hrs drive
